JOB TITLE: Event Manager/Event Designer
INDUSTRY: Media/Communications
LOCATION: Lekki, phase 1, Lagos
MODE OF WORK: Hybrid
Job Summary:
The Event Manager/Event Designer is responsible for planning, conceptualizing, and managing the creative and logistical aspects of events from inception to execution. This role demands a keen eye for design, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously while delivering unique and memorable experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Design & Planning
– Conceptualize event themes and creative elements, ensuring alignment with client or project objectives.
– Design detailed event layouts, including stage setups, décor, lighting, seating, and branding materials.
– Collaborate with designers, florists, and production teams to bring the event vision to life.
Event Management & Execution
– Manage event logistics, including venue selection, vendor coordination, catering, and technical support.
– Oversee the planning and execution of events, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
– Coordinate all operational aspects, including registration, entertainment, transportation, and staffing.
Vendor and Stakeholder Management
– Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, sponsors, and partners
– Collaborate with the marketing team to promote events via social media, email campaigns, and other channels
Key Skills and Competencies:
– Strong organizational, time-management, and multi-tasking abilities.
– Exceptional creativity with a solid understanding of event design and trends.
– Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
– Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Trello, Asana) and design software (e.g., Canva, AutoCAD, or Adobe Suite) is a plus.
– Knowledge of event technology, including audio-visual equipment and registration software.
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, or a related field.
– 3+ years of experience in event management, event design, or a similar role.
– Proven portfolio of successful events (corporate, social, cultural, or experiential).
– Familiarity with local vendors, venues, and event regulations.
– Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
Certification in Event Management (e.g., CMP, CSEP) is an added advantage.
– Experience with large-scale or multi-day events.
– Previous experience working with high-profile clients and luxury events.
