Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic professional to join our team as Head of Credit and Risk Management. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the company’s credit management function, overseeing credit analysis, risk assessment, portfolio monitoring, recovery processes, and regulatory compliance.
This role requires a strong understanding of credit risk management, lending structures, portfolio quality management, and financial analysis within the financial services industry.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the development and implementation of the company’s credit risk framework, policies, and procedures.
Review and assess credit proposals, financial statements, and risk profiles of borrowers and counterparties.
Oversee credit approvals, documentation, collateral management, and disbursement processes.
Monitor portfolio performance, concentration risks, and delinquency trends.
Develop and execute recovery and remediation strategies for delinquent exposures.
Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Prepare periodic credit risk and portfolio reports for management and committees.
Work collaboratively with Treasury, Investment, Operations, Legal, Finance, and Business Development teams.
Lead, mentor, and develop the credit team while promoting a strong risk management culture.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, FRM,or MBA will be an added advantage.
Minimum of 8–12 years relevant experience in credit risk, lending, asset management, investment banking, or financial services.
At least 3–5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
Strong knowledge of credit analysis, financial modeling, and portfolio risk management.
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
