Job Title: Electrician (Warehouse)
Location: Isolo, Lagos
Job Type: Contract
Pay: ₦100,000 monthly
Job Summary:
The Electrician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment within the warehouse. This includes ensuring the safe operation of machinery, troubleshooting electrical issues, and maintaining lighting, wiring, and other essential electrical systems to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Installation & Maintenance:
o Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, and components in the warehouse.
o Ensure all warehouse machinery and equipment are operating effectively and safely.
o Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems to prevent breakdowns.
2. Troubleshooting & Repair:
o Diagnose electrical malfunctions or failures and perform timely repairs.
o Identify and resolve potential electrical risks promptly.
o Respond to emergency breakdowns to minimize downtime.
3. Safety & Compliance:
o Ensure compliance with local electrical codes, safety regulations, and company policies.
o Conduct safety checks on electrical systems and equipment to prevent hazards.
o Collaborate with the safety team to follow safety protocols.
4. Upgrades & Modifications:
o Advise management on electrical upgrades, repairs, or enhancements required.
o Suggest energy efficiency improvements for the facility.
5. Documentation & Reporting:
o Maintain records of all electrical maintenance work, repairs, and inspections.
Prepare reports on the status of electrical systems and repair schedules.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of a diploma or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience as an electrician, preferably in a warehouse or industrial setting.
• Knowledge of local electrical codes and safety regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and handle emergencies.
Skills:
• Strong understanding of electrical systems and components.
• Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Physical stamina for labour-intensive tasks and warehouse conditions.
Work Conditions:
• May require lifting heavy equipment or working in confined spaces.
• Involves working on ladders or at heights.
• Flexibility to work overtime or respond to emergency callouts.
