Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Procurement Officer with a strong background in project-based purchasing within the manufacturing sector. The ideal candidate will manage the procurement of materials, equipment, and services necessary to support manufacturing operations and project execution. This role requires a strategic mindset, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to meet project timelines and cost objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Procurement Planning and Strategy:
•Develop and execute procurement plans for manufacturing projects in alignment with project schedules and budgets.
•Conduct market research to identify cost-effective suppliers and alternatives.
2.Supplier Management:
•Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with reliable suppliers and vendors.
•Monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with quality, delivery, and pricing agreements.
•Negotiate contracts and terms to secure favorable pricing and conditions.
3.Project Buying:
•Coordinate and procure materials and equipment for specific manufacturing projects.
•Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand technical requirements and specifications.
•Ensure timely delivery of project-critical items to avoid delays.
4.Cost and Budget Management:
•Manage procurement budgets for projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
•Identify opportunities for cost savings and implement them without compromising quality.
5.Risk Management:
•Assess risks associated with procurement activities and implement mitigation strategies.
•Manage supply chain disruptions and resolve issues proactively.
6.Compliance and Reporting:
•Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and legal requirements.
•Maintain accurate procurement records and prepare regular reports on procurement performance, cost savings, and supplier metrics.
7.Collaboration and Communication:
•Work closely with production, engineering, and project teams to align procurement activities with project goals.
•Serve as a key point of contact for procurement-related queries and issues.
Qualifications and Skills:
•Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
•Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in procurement, with specific expertise in project buying within the manufacturing industry.
