Job title: Senior Accountant

Location: Lagos Mainland/Ota

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing reports, analyzing costs, inventory control, and other related tasks. The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in providing financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
•Assist FC in the preparation of annual budgets for the company, all its operations, and departments.
•Carrying out monthly operations performance variance analysis between budgeted and actual revenues and costs, obtaining reasons for such variances from the responsible officers of the company, and advising management on compliance with budgets.
•Monitoring all capital expenditures to ensure that the company does not exceed its approved CAPEX budget.
•Responsible for the company’s fixed assets administration (verification, additions, depreciation, WIP, disposal) in line with the company’s policies.
•Assist in appraisal and preparation of justifications for all new investments in the Company’s businesses.
•Assist FC in determining appropriate pricing of the company’s products and services, taking into consideration the required level of profitability and other market indices,
•Accurate costing of all production batches, ensuring appropriate posting into the General Ledger.
•Periodically Carrying out production costs and yield analysis, comparing actual costs and yields with standards/targets, advising management of any variance noted and appropriate actions to take.
•Monthly reviews of general ledger accounts for proper classification, accuracy, and ensuring financial numbers/output integrity.
•Preparation of daily/monthly raw materials carrying cost tracker and product margin analysis vis-à-vis business margin objectives.
•Assist FC in the preparation of Rigid business periodic financial statements in accordance with relevant financial reporting standards.
•Preparation of quarterly performance report including insurance declaration returns
•Assist the FC to ensure that all audit recommendations are promptly treated and implemented.
•Supervision and training of direct reports abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in marketing communications to continually innovate and enhance our approach.
•Provide regular reporting and insights to senior management on marketing communications performance, highlighting successes, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.

Qualification & Experience:
•HND/B.Sc. in Accounting, or related field; ICAN Chartered Required.
•Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
•Computer knowledge (Microsoft Word).
