About the Role
The Automobile Technician will oversee automobile operations, vehicle maintenance, fleet scheduling, driver management, safety compliance, and related activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise daily activities of the automobile unit, including drivers and mechanics.
* Plan vehicle deployment and scheduling.
* Ensure vehicles are operational, serviced, and ready for use.
* Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance.
* Maintain service, repair, and fuel consumption records.
* Liaise with mechanics and vendors on spare parts and repairs.
* Manage driver schedules and performance.
* Ensure compliance with safety and traffic regulations.
* Allocate manpower and vehicle resources efficiently.
* Prepare reports and track automobile expenditures.
* Implement cost-saving measures and enforce HSE standards.
* Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with vehicle usage procedures.
Requirements
* B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or related field.
* 5–7 years’ relevant experience in automobile maintenance, fleet management, or supervision, preferably in manufacturing or industrial settings.
* Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and workshop operations.
* Ability to plan preventive maintenance schedules.
* Proficiency in record keeping, cost tracking, and logistics coordination.
* Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* High attention to detail and safety awareness.
* Ability to manage teams effectively and work under pressure.
