Job Title: Chief Operating Officer (COO) – Real Estate
Location: Lagos, Nigeria
Salary Budget: Up to ₦2,000,000 Gross Monthly
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee and optimize the day-to-day operations of our real estate business. The ideal candidate will provide strategic leadership, improve operational efficiency, drive business growth, and ensure seamless execution across all departments, including construction, sales, finance, administration, and project management. The COO will work closely with the executive leadership team to develop and implement operational strategies that support the company’s long-term vision and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the company’s business objectives.
* Oversee daily business operations across all departments to ensure efficiency and productivity.
* Lead and supervise cross-functional teams, fostering accountability and high performance.
* Monitor and improve operational processes, systems, and internal controls.
* Coordinate construction and real estate development projects to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
* Work closely with the finance team on budgeting, cost control, cash flow planning, and financial performance.
* Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for departments and business units.
* Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies.
* Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory, legal, and industry standards.
* Build strong relationships with clients, investors, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders.
* Drive business expansion initiatives and identify opportunities for operational improvement.
* Prepare periodic operational reports and present business performance updates to executive management and the Board.
Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, Engineering, Project Management, Finance, or a related field.
* MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.
* Minimum of 10 years of progressive management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the real estate, construction, or property development industry.
* Strong understanding of real estate development, project management, construction operations, and property management.
* Proven experience leading large teams and managing multiple business functions.
* Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
* Excellent strategic planning, leadership, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
* Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.
* High level of integrity, professionalism, and business acumen.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant project management tools.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in large-scale real estate development projects.
* Professional certifications in Project Management, Operations Management, or Real Estate are an added advantage.
* Strong network within the Nigerian real estate and construction industry.
