Deputy Head, Internal Audit and Control

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced audit professional to support the Head of Internal Audit and Control in safeguarding financial integrity, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will lead day-to-day audit activities and assume delegated authority in the Headโs absence.
Key Responsibilities
โข Plan, supervise, and execute audits in line with the departmentโs audit plan.
โข Evaluate internal controls, risk management, and governance processes, recommending improvements.
โข Review and quality-assure audit reports and working papers.
โข Investigate suspected fraud, policy breaches, and financial misconduct.
โข Oversee transaction monitoring, including pre-disbursement checks and daily postings call-over.
โข Track implementation of audit recommendations across departments.
โข Coach, train, and appraise audit staff.
Requirements
โข Bachelorโs degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
โข Minimum of 6 yearsโ relevant experience in internal audit, internal control, or risk management, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
โข ACA, ACCA, ICAN, CIA, or equivalent professional qualification is an advantage.
โข Strong analytical, report-writing, and communication skills.
โข Proven leadership and people-management abilities, integrity, and sound judgment.
โข Experience in a structured corporate or financial services environment is preferred.
