- Hiring: Head of Technology
Nigeria, open to relocation within Nigeria (flexible for the right candidate) | Full time, Permanent
As Head of Technology you own the technology function end to end: you accept the platform from the delivery partner, lead the permanent team, and keep every surface running for launch and beyond.
Core responsibilities
Platform acceptance: Own the relationship with the delivery partner and lead acceptance of the handover against a clear, written standard.
Platform ownership & approvals: Own the platform end to end and hold approval authority over releases, changes and go/no-go decisions.
Technical direction: Set architecture, tooling and hosting decisions across website, apps, streaming and internal tools.
Publishing workflow controls: Own the technical controls governing the publishing workflow, including publishing permissions and the approvals before content goes live.
Team leadership: Hire, lead and grow the six-person engineering team, and set priorities against the launch date.
Reliability & security: Hold accountability for reliability, security posture and incident response at launch and beyond.
Knowledge & skills required
Proven engineering leadership: Track record leading engineering teams that shipped consumer web and mobile products.
Hands-on depth: Enough technical depth to make architecture calls and review work across frontend, backend and infrastructure.
Vendor & systems integration: Experience taking over, integrating or operating third-party or vendor-built systems.
Security & governance: A solid grasp of security posture, access and publishing governance, and the controls a live platform needs.
Judgement under pressure: Sound judgement under deadline and comfort owning go and no-go calls.
