About the Role
Nautilus Nigeria Engineering and Construction Limited (NNEC) is recruiting a Mechanical Technician II to carry out maintenance work. The role may be assigned to either a company (XOM) employee or a contractor resource and typically reports to a supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
– Assist mechanical engineers in the planning and testing of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery, including engines, instruments, controls, robots, and machines.
– Help prepare proposals and cost estimates.
– Actively participate in the use of all on-the-job safety tools.
– Review job packs.
– Identify safety issues associated with jobs and ensure their removal or mitigation prior to working.
– Execute work as planned.
– Record technical history as required by the workgroup, including the Global Reliability Tool (GRT) and data sheets.
– Provide feedback on job pack improvements to the Execution FLS.
– Request permits and notify the Supervisor if a permit cannot be issued within 30 minutes of the requested time.
Requirements
– Discipline-appropriate certification(s), if applicable, or equivalent professional experience.
– Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely describe conditions in the field and recommend remediation steps.
– Team player who exhibits effective teamwork when working with persons over whom they may have no direct authority and demonstrates a willingness to assist others.
– Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities.
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
