Job Title: Head of Resources
Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers State
Reports To: MD/CEO
Our client, one of the leading power companies in Nigeria, is seeking a highly experienced and strategic professional to fill the role of Head of Resources. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the Human Resources, Information Technology, and Corporate Services functions of the company, ensuring the effective development and management of the organization’s resources to support business objectives.
Job Objective:
The Head of Resources will provide strategic leadership for the Human Resources function and oversee Information & Communication Technology and Corporate Services (Facilities, Administration, Security, Logistics, Clinic and School). The role will drive strategic initiatives, organizational development, operational efficiency, and resource optimization to support the company’s corporate and human capital strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources:
•Lead and develop HR strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
•Provide workforce analytics, reports, and insights to senior management.
•Drive organizational transformation, culture change, and performance improvement initiatives.
•Oversee recruitment, performance management, training, and employee relations.
•Liaise with subsidiary HR teams and provide strategic HR solutions.
Information Technology:
•Oversee HR and Finance information systems (Converge and SunSystems).
•Drive IT solutions that improve efficiency and reduce cost.
•Ensure functionality and effectiveness of all IT systems and tools.
Corporate Services:
•Oversee Administration, Facilities Management, Security, and Logistics.
•Ensure cost management and value for money in procurement and vendor management.
•Coordinate vendor selection and performance management.
General Responsibilities:
•Review and approve expense-related requests on Converge.
•Oversee payroll processing.
•Ensure compliance with Data Protection policies and NDPR requirements.
Education and Experience:
•Minimum of a First Degree in Social Sciences, Humanities, or related discipline.
•Professional HR certification (CIPM, SHRM, NITAD) is an advantage.
•Minimum of 10 years’ experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial role in a similar position.
